Structural Integration ( SI) is a skill-based approach to somesthetic massage, usually involving manual therapy, which examines the possibility of alteration in the way you feel and use your body during the course of your work. A skilled manual touch can bring immediate relief from pain and stress and awareness of how you're doing with your upper body helps you make better decisions. Imagine the potential for structural integration to be a tool for change! They are more successful in their careers and have higher ratios of education-to-career and have higher levels of success at work. What can structural integration do for you?

Through my studies with clients, I have found that Structural Integration Therapy can help to: (a) Align Posture: Most office workers are suffering from postural issues and abuse of their posture. From slouched sitting position to frequently changing body postures (like standing straight or leaning forward to reach something), office workers are constantly straining their joints and muscles and putting a lot of pressure on their spines and postures. (b) Reduce Back Pain The primary reason office workers miss days off sick and miss periods of time is due to discomfort. According to one study, office workers were missing 15% of the days of work due to back pain over the course of a typical year. (c) Strengthen your lower back or rebuild it: A significant proportion of the population suffers from poor 청주마사지 posture, which is known as lordosis. This condition can affect the muscles and the spine. (d) Increase Flexibility: A major hurdle to achieving optimum performance in a variety of professional fields, such as sports and even at the home, is the inability to maintain a tight and smooth muscle and joint motion.

Many clients I see want immediate relief from joint pain, and/or facet joint (back discomfort) using massage chairs. But what they may not realize is that massage therapy is just one aspect of Structural Integration Therapy and not the answer to all of their problems. Structural Integration Therapy also involves proper spinal alignment, which can improve their physical and mental health. (e.g. by helping them sit straight) and, when appropriate informing their therapists on proper posture and techniques to address the root causes of pain. By implementing these other strategies, clients can help their therapists pinpoint the physical issues that are causing their discomfort.

How can Structural Integration Therapy applied to you? First the client is screened for any existing injuries. A physical exam is conducted, usually consisting of a functional and diagnostic review of the client's body and environment. Then, a customized plan of manipulative touch or massage is created to meet the client's specific requirements and goals. Once a strategy has been created and implemented, a massage therapist can assist the patient to study and implement the method they prefer.

Common procedures used in structural integration include therapeutic touch and manual therapy. Manual therapy involves techniques and movements to restore alignment to joints and soft tissues throughout the body. Meanwhile, soft tissue manipulation is used to repair injuries to muscles and ligaments, tendons and joints. Both methods can be utilized in conjunction or separately to target specific areas of problem. In addition, both techniques can be combined with other methods , such as heat therapy and ultrasound therapy to further target areas of pain.

A diagnostic assessment is needed to determine the source of any pain, stiffness or weakness, in order to begin the process of integrating structurally. Then, a treatment program is designed and implemented. Sessions typically last thirty to sixty minutes . They are led by a certified massage therapist who is skilled in structural integration. Sessions are focused on relieving pain, enhancing mobility, increasing strength and soft-tissue contact. Strengthening the fascia is another common goal. When a patient starts receiving treatment, subsequent sessions are scheduled regularly for a period of weeks to months.

The therapists will use trigger points, massage, and other techniques to encourage healing of the muscular or skeletal structures during the initial sessions of rehabilitation. If the cause of pain is more severe and requires additional measures, they may be needed to target problematic areas. In the case of severe injuries or diseases, extensive rehabilitation may be required. The goal of postoperative treatment is to improve the patient's daily function. After surgery, a plan for rehabilitation comprising manual therapies and trigger point release techniques will be suggested for 청주마사지 the long-term maintenance of mobility.

Patients can begin regaining daily function within a year if rehabilitation's goal is to improve the quality of life. To ensure greater success, the patient must follow all postoperative guidelines provided by their physician and follow their regular schedule of physical therapy and follow-up appointments with a chiropractor. Regular appointments ensure an optimal alignment of the spine and provide relief from pain and stiffness that can help prevent further injuries or poor posture. Chiropractic services also offer a variety of support services, including body alignment, orthopedic maintenance, and balance and joint management. If needed chiropractors can offer specific services like kinesiology (treatments of joints and the muscles that support them) to treat specific injuries or problems.
